As previously reported, the theatre, which has been abandoned since the 1980s, has remained vacant on East Main Street since its closing. Brookhaven Town took ownership of the theatre in March from its former owner, East Main Realty Corp, through an order of condemnation after the owner rejected a $1.2 million offer from the Town.
The theatre will be demolished by Bove Industries of Setauket at a cost not to exceed $23,869.

Amityville Long Island Amityville is the western most village in the town of Babylon in the county of Suffolk. Accord to the Amityville Historical Society Amityville was first settled by Europeans from Huntington a settlement on the north shore of Long Island then call Nassau Island in 1657. Huntington was settled in 1653 so it didn’t take long for them to wonder south. They first they called the land South Huntington or West Neck South bought from the native tribe that they called the Massapequa Indians in 1697. I don’t know if anyone knows the price they paid them. There was only a small population of salt hay farmers and fishermen until the late 19 th early 20 th centuries when the wealthy people from the City of New York found the village attracted by the Amityville River. Patchogue Long Island By Richard Boyle The first of the European invaders it seems arrived around 1663, like many other villages of Long Island fishing, Oysters and calming was the main occupations.  I had heard that the name Patchogue was the original Long Island native's word for land of many lakes, but I am not sure that is true. There did develop an industry around the lakes where Mills were built the most famous one being the Lace Mill.
